The Power of Prayer in Impossible Situations

The Power of Prayer in Impossible Situations

In Mark 9:28-29 : Jesus is shown healing a young lad that is deaf and has epilepsy. Jesus also relates to His disciples that some healing and prayers for deliverance only occur when prayer is coupled with fasting.

Mark 9:28-29 28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. This does not indicate that Satan has a lot of power and can resist the Power of God.

Prayer can indeed move mountains, however, a prayer warrior has to be persistent and consistent in their prayer life. Prayer coupled with the Word of God can accomplish mighty deeds. There is a spiritual discipline in a person’s prayer life that also brings great power. In today’s time many Christians do not practice fasting along with prayer. There is a depth in the spirit that can be reached when certain Biblical conditions are met.

When we allow the Holy Spirit along with anointed Bible teaching to instruct us in the area of prayer and fasting, we will be able to develop as prayer warriors and see many more victories. Prayer in itself, especially when praying for a healing is not pleading or negotiating with God. The Bible shows that the Lord wants to heal and deliver to show His Power so that He will receive the Glory for the mighty deed that is done. No sickness, disease or evil spirit is able to stand against the power of God.

However, in the case of Mark 9:28-29, we see that Jesus said O faithless generation in Mark 9:19. Our faith is increased by seeing the Power of God move, yes this is a given. Howbeit the Word of God says "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God”. So if we want our faith increased we must go to the Word of God and study and read. When we fast we must know that we cannot manipulate the Lord through our actions. The fasting is for the believer and not for God.

Jesus knows the thoughts and intents of our hearts and will move to perform a miracle even when we are not prayed up and fasted up. We must remember that the name of Jesus is always powerful and He is the one that gets the honor and the glory for all the wonderful works that he does.
